A close up of single birch tree trunk done in oil paint and cold wax medium. Working with oil and cold wax medium, allows me to create more freely and abstractly using palette knives, scrapers or any other tools that can make a mark on the surface.

Cold wax painting is built up in many layers. Underneath layers are revealed by scraping and scratching while continuing the build up of more layers.

I have always had a passion for drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I spent much of my career working in graphic design, marketing, and finance in the corporate world while raising my family. Now, I am finally happy to rekindle my passion for the visual arts and love every moment of this creative journey. My works tend to be bright and colorful, perhaps a reflection of my island upbringing. The process of creating is experimental and rewarding as I welcome surprises in the way my thoughts interact with any medium, whether that be acrylics, watercolors, encaustic wax, oil and cold wax, or mixed media.
