This abstract painting by Christine Chin-Fook was created in oil and cold wax medium using a limited palette of crimson, yellow, black and white.

Cold wax painting is built up in many layers. Underneath layers are revealed by scraping and scratching while continuing the build up of more layers.

I have always had a passion for drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I spent much of my career working in graphic design, marketing, and finance in the corporate world while raising my family. Now, I am finally happy to rekindle my passion for the visual arts and love every moment of this creative journey. My works tend to be bright and colorful, perhaps a reflection of my island upbringing. The process of creating is experimental and rewarding as I welcome surprises in the way my thoughts interact with any medium, whether that be acrylics, watercolors, encaustic wax, oil and cold wax, or mixed media.
